Born on April 3, 1922, in Rhode Island, he graduated from West Point in 1944. He died on November 22, 1982 and was buried in Section 6 of Arlington National Cemetery.
Research continues regarding whether he is somehow related to General Winfield Scott of Mexican War fame, who is buried at West Point.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
