William Edward Potts, HMCM, United States Navy (Retires), 78, died Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
HMCM Potts was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Silver Star, and was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
HMCM Potts is survived by his wife, Dorothy Potts; two sons, Larry Potts of Richmond, Virginia and John Potts of Cobb Island, Maryland; a daughter, Susan Harris of Oak Hill, Virginia; a brother, Charles Potts of West Virginia; an aunt, Leota Law of Seattle, Washington; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2003 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at MULLINS & THOMPSON FUNERAL SERVICE, Fredericksburg Chapel, where services will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2003, at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. R. Kenneth Brooks officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery on February 18, 2003 at 1 p.m.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
