Born on July 20, 1935, he was killed in action, with Major Charles Lovelace, while on an air mission in Laos on June 22, 1965. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart.
He and Lovelace are each buried in Section 46 of Arlington National Cemetery, adjacent to the Memorial Ampitheater.
