Colonel Vincent J. Robinson (retired) died on January 7, 1999, in a the Norfolk, Virginia, VA hospital, Colonel Robinson was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Colonel Robinson was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross with two air medals and several campaign medals and unit citations; he graduated from Boston College; and he established the Tidewater Chapter of the Third Marine Division Association.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Robinson of Norfolk, Virginia; four daughters, Michaeline Krey of California, Sheila Kmack of New York, Deirdre Robinson of Rhode Island and Brigid O’Brien of Pennsylvania; as well as two stepdaughters, Kathryn Carrol of New York and Colleen Nash of Hawaii. He also had nine grandchildren and one great grandson.
He will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery on January 25 following a Mass of Christian Burial at the Fort Myer Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund or the American Heart Association.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
