BOWERS, VERONZA, SFC USA (Ret.) Age 81, departed this life on Tuesday, January 10, 2006.
Sergeant Bowers was president of the Inter-City Trash Service, Inc, for many years. He leaves to cherish warm memories his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Mrs. Charlotte Perteet Bowers; three sons Veronza, Jr., Eric and Kevin Bowers; two daughters Voni B. Eason and Joi M. Bowers; four granddaughters; three grandsons; two
great-grandchildren; three sisters,Oranoca Parijo, Hallia Grijalva and Vonessanar Le-Gaspi; two godchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by a brother Bernardo Bowers and a sister Voneria Mendoza.
Sergeant Bowers will lie in state on Monday, January 23, 2006 from 10 a.m. until hour of service at 11 a.m., at Shepherd Park Christian Church, 7900 Eastern Ave., N.W. Rev. Marcus L. Leathers officiating.
Interment will take place on Tuesday, January 24 at 1 p.m at Arlington National Cemetery.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
