Served as Private, Corporal and Sergeant, Company G, 16th U.S. Infantry, 27 May 1893 to 7 April 1896
Commissioned Second Lieutenant, 6th U. S. Infantry, 23 March 1896
Died 2 July 1898 of wounds received on 1 July 1898 at the Battle of San Juan, Santiago, Cuba.
He was buried with full military honors in Section 1 of Alrington National Cemetery.
