BOSTON, Massachusetts, July 22, 1938 – Robert Peter Hains, former Chief Examiner of the United States Patent Office and a specialist on patent law, died today at his home. His age was 78.
A native of Beverly, New Jersey, he was graduated from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis in 1881.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
