PINSON, COL. PAUL DeSALES (Age 86)
Paul DeSales Pinson, Colonel, United States Army (retired), died on February 11, 2002 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, Florida.
Born July 28, 1915 in Middleport, Ohio, he graduated from Lakeland High School 1933, the University of California in 1941 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.
He married Penelope Pinson in 1948.
After the war, he served in the Army Reserve and worked in New York City as a consulting engineer in the transportation field, before retiring to Lakeland in 1978.
He is survived by his wife, Penelope K. Pinson of Lakeland, Florida; his son, Anthony DeSales Pinson of Alexandria, Virginia, and two grandchildren. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
