Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Mary McBridde Wright, United States Army, 50, died August 29, 1997, at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Colonel McBride joined the Women’s Army Corps as a college junior in 1968. She completed tours in Germany, Korea and throughout the United States. Her last assignment was as the Chief, Family Services, Headquarters, U.S. Army Europe. She served in the Army for 20 years.
Her awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit and Meritorious Service Medal.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; two daughters, Karin and Meghan .
Burial was held September 5, 1997, at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
