Marion M. Quackenbush
Marion M. Quackenbush, 85, of Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania died March 10, 2002 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, New York. She was born January 24, 1917 in Dexter, Kansas, the daughter of LeRoy & Ruth Farr Mitchell.
Marion was a retired Elementary School Teacher, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville, and a lifetime member of the International Cribbage Association.
She is survived by a son, Robert O. Quackenbush Jr. of Tooele, UT; 2 brothers, Royce Mitchell of Corning, New York, and David Mitchell of Hudson, Florida; 3 sisters, Mary Gonyo of Solon Springs, Wisconsin, Frances Dreier of Brandon, Wisconsin, and Verona Masini of Glenview, Illinois, also 3 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Colonel Robert O. Quackenbush, USA (Ret.) on September 5, 1988 & 2 sisters, Joann Hoyt & Dorothy Knowles.
Graveside Committal services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2002. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marion’s memory may be directed to the Building Fund of Calvary United Methodist Church, PO Box 237, Lawrenceville, PA 16929.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
