GREGORY, MICHAEL JAMES, LTC USA (Ret.)
Michael James Gregory, Lieutenant Colonel, United States Army (retired) died peacefully, on October 25, 2001, surrounded by his family at Tucson Heart Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Jaime Gregory; loving father of Tanya, Michael and Mark; cherished son of Milton F. Gregory Sr. and the late Ruth Delia Beggs; dear brother of Judy Duff, Milton, Maurice and Marshall Gregory and Gina Eades. Also survived by his former wife, Rosemary Gregory, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, November 27 (today) at 3 p.m. Please meet at the Administration Building by 2:30 p.m.
Mike entered the U.S. Army in 1967 and served in Ethiopia and Vietnam. Upon return to his home in California, he attend UC-Berkeley and received his Army commission in 1974. He served in Germany, Korea, Turkey, El Salvador and at The Pentagon. He retired from active duty in 1995 and moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona. Mike had a love for music, singing, playing the guitar and entertaining friends. His gift to all of us is the memory of his laughter, his love for family and friends and his famous parties. He will be forever in our hearts.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history. Many of his articles can be found on renowned portals like the New York Times, Washingtonpost or Wikipedia.
