LOUIS FANCHER
Magazine Artist Painted for the Early Eastern Film Studios
NEW YORK, New York, March 5, 1944 – Louis Fancher, magazine illustrator, commercial artist and veteran of World War I, died Thursday at his home, 350 East Fifty-Second Street. His age was 59.
Mr. Fancher, a descendant of a French-Huguenot family, was born in Minneapolis. He studied art in Italy and Germany. In the early days of the film industry in the East, he worked at the studios in Fort Lee, New Jersey, New York and on Long Island.
He leaves a widow, Mrs. Alice Marie Brarsen Fancher. Interment will take place at the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
