James W. Fogt, Sergeant Major (Ret.), 55, died July 3, 1997 at the Edwards Hospital, Naperville.
Sergeant Major Fogt was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He served in the United States Army for more than 20 years.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Purple Heart, Overseas Service Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Army Commendation Medal.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; one son, Timothy; and one daughter, Lisa.
Burial was held July 15 at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
