“Jack” was a member of the Class of `59, Nowich University where he was comissioned as a Second Lieutenant, Armor. While at Norwich he attained the rank of Lieutnant Colonel and commanded the 2nd Cadet Battalion. He is also remembered by his alumnus on a memorial at the university. Also included as one of his classmates was General Gordon Sullivan, former Chief of Staff of the Army.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
