Corporal Gross, of Riverdale, Maryland, died on September 25, 2001, in Maputo, Mozambique, South Africa.
He is survived by parents, Ronald and Rosa Gross; sisters, Ronnett and Danielle; fiance Natisha Frith; many other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, October 12, 10 a.m.; service 11 a.m., at Lanham Church of God, 6310 Cipriano Rd., Lanham, Maryland. Interment October 17, Arlington National Cemetery, 10 a.m.
NOTE: He was killed, with another U. S. Marine, in an off-duty boating accident.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
