In 1996, Sergeant Heather Lynn Johnson is the first woman to earn the prestigious tomb guard badge to become the first female sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
