Chaplain, U.S. House of Representatives
Born at Plymouth, Indiana, on November 21, 1842 he was a veteran of the Civil War, serving with the 1st Battalion of Cavalry, Mississippi Marine Guard.
He was a Doctor of Divinity in his later life and served as Chaplain of the United States House of Representatives from 1895 to 1921.
He died on August 22, 1922 at Fort Myer, Virginia, and was buried in Section 15 of Arlington National Cemetery.
His wife, Harriet Dunbar Couden, born at Canton, Ohio, on February 11, 1842,died at Chillicothe, Ilinois, on September 20, 1926) is buried with him, as is his son, Henry Noble Couden, Jr. (Private, Company F, 1st Division, Spanish-American War) who was born at Madrid, New York, on April 10, 1879 and who died at Fort Lawton, Seattle, Washington, on April 16, 1906.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
