Retired Army Officer Dies Of A Heart Attack In Capital
WASHINGTON, December 30, 1933 – Colonel Henry C. Bonnycastle, U.S.A., retired, died today of aheart attack at the age of 61. He was a brother-in-law of Marvin H. McIntyre, Assistant Secretary to President Roosevelt. He had made his home here since his retirement from active servicef or disability two yearsago.
Colonel Bonnycastle was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, the Philippine Insurrection and of the expedition into Mexico under General Pershingin 1916.
He is survived by a widow and three daughters, MissBarbara Bonnycastle, Mrs. Harriet Butts, and Mrs. Arthur J. Bender.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
