WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – Retired Army Colonel George Youngblood, 54, a former business manager with the Computer Science Corp., died Tuesday at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Williamsburg United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Bucktrout Funeral Home, will be in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
Colonel Youngblood was born in Charleston, Virginia, a son of George L. Youngblood and Margaret Willard Youngblood.
He was a graduate of The Citadel and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Old Virginia Primitive Rifle Association and Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Youngblood; his father, George L. Youngblood of Charleston; a daughter, Christine New of Hermitage, Tenn.; two sons, Sam Rose and Adam Rose, both of Newport News, Virginia; a brother, Scott Youngblood of Sullivan’s Island; and a grandchild.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
