George T. Quinn, 70, an FBI agent who retired in 1979 as special agent in charge of the Baltimore office, died of kidney cancer January 11, 1999 at his home in Lutherville, Maryand.
Mr. Quinn’s 25-year career with the FBI included duty in Tampa and work in Washington from 1963 to 1975. He graduated from Fordham University in his native New York and served in the Army in Korea during the Korean War, receiving a Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
He held real estate jobs in the Baltimore area after retiring from the FBI.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Rita M. Zipp Quinn of Lutherville; six children, Kevin Quinn of Queenstown, Md., Colleen Cashen of Towson, Eileen Wilcox of Lutherville, Patricia Getz of Bel Air, Md., Michaela Kammer of Kirkwood, Mo., and Neil Quinn of Lutherville; and 16 grandchildren.

A vigil service will be held on Friday at the RUCK TOWSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1050 York Rd, Towson, MD 21204 (Baltimore Beltway Exit 26-A). A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church (Towson) on Saturday, January 16 at 10 A.M. Interment on Tuesday, January 19 at 1 P.M. in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington VA. Friends may call on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
