Military Record: Drillmaster in Richmond, spring of 1861, and with 2nd North Carolina and 7th Virginia. At home to recover health then joined Captain W.M. McGregor’s Company, Virginia Horse Artillery (Captain G.W. Brown’s Company, Virginia Horse Artillery). Made Lieuteannt. Made Captain 20 March 1865. Post War Career: Real Estate. In business in Buffalo, New York. Living in Lockport, New York in 1918. Died 22 March 1927. Buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
