FRED WIESE “Doc”, MSgt (Retired)
Distinguished Korean War and
Vietnam War Veteran
Our beloved father and grandfather died on April 22, 2003 at his daughter’s home in Arlington, Virginia.
Dad was one of the first Green Berets at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, and his Army tours included the Korean War, Vietnam, Germany and Thailand. He was an outstanding medic and always took care of the family ailments!
As a Green Beret, Dad had over 1,000 parachute jumps and served 6 years in Vietnam.
He is survived by his son, Robert L. Wiese and his daughter, Colonel Lori T. Hill, United States Air Force, and two grandchildren, Robbie and Alex.
A memorial service will be held on May 13, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Armed Forces Retirement Home, 3700 North Capitol St., N.W., Washington, D.C. in the Stanley Chapel, followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Hospice of Northern Virginia, Falls Church or Lifepath Hospice of Tampa. Dad was predeceased on July 6, 2002 by our Mom, Rena T. Wiese…but they are now together forever …Godspeed Dad and Mom.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history. Many of his articles can be found on renowned portals like the New York Times, Washingtonpost or Wikipedia.
