Frank Edwin Sherman, Lieuenant Commander, United States Navy (retired), Communications Eengineer, Navy Pilot and Naval Academy Graduate in 1949 on died August 25, 2002 at Fairfax Hospital. He was born June 21, 1925 in Salina, Kansas.
He was the loving husband of Marlene Bauman Sherman, wife of 50 years of Alexandria, Virginia. He is also survived by a brother, George “Cork” Sherman, Albuquerque, New Mexico; a son, Stefhan Sherman, Point of Rocks, Maryland; two daughters, Mary Sherman, Boston, Massachusetts, Sharon and husband, Robert Hines, Raleigh, North Carolina, and four grandchildren, Meghan, Hanna, Britta and Matthew.
Services are to be held at the Fort Myer Old Post Chapel on September 27, 1 p.m.
Graveside services to follow in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Enter Arlington National Cemetery over Memorial Bridge to be
directed to the Fort Myer Chapel.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
