Captain Barrow was a member of the 111st Fighter Bomber Squadron, US Air Force. He was listed as Missing in Action while participating in aerial support over Korea on February 3, 1952. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. For his leadership and valor, Captain Barrow was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart.
There is a a Memorial Stone for Captain Barrow in Memorian Section A, directly on the front lawn of the Custis-Lee Mansion.
