Dennis Michael O’Neill was born on September 1, 1943 and joined the Armed
Forces while in Bedford, Massahusetts.
He served in the United States Army and in one year of service, he attained the rank of Private First Class (E3). He began a tour of duty in Vietnam on January 4, 1966.
On February 2, 1966, at the age of 22, Dennis Michael O’Neill perished in the service of our country in South Vietnam.
Dennis was the son of United States Air Force Lieutenant General John William O’Neill.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
