David Bryant Moore, 16th Indiana Regiment, Company C. He was a Major and also served in Company D.
He was born in 1841 and died in 1919. He died in Washington D. C., and is buried in Arlington Cemetery.
He is the son of Edward and Susannah (Bryant) Moore. His wife was Mattie May Amiss.
After the war he re-enlisted to help subdue the Indian tribes and was in a group that founded Fort Sill in Indian Territory (Okloahoma). He was remembered by a niece as the handsomest man in the world, tall and slender with coal black eyes and hair. Source is the Orange County InGenWeb site.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
