Lieutenant McClure Dead
WASHINGTON, July 5, 1901. Acting Adjutant General Ward today received a cable message from General Chaffee saying that Lieutenant Charles McClure, Jr., Thirtieth Infantry, died at Catbalogan, Samar, Philippine Islands, on the 1st inst. of dysentery. Lieutenant McClure was a son of Colonel Charles McClure, Pay Department and a grandson of General George W. Getty, United States Army, retired. He was born at Sioux City, Iowa June 10, 1875, and was appointed a Second Lieutenant in the Army from civil life June 1, 1890.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
