Charles Edward DeValin, Chief Engineer, United States Navy, was born in Baltimore, Maryland, 28 August 1836, and died in Washington, D.C. on 16 April 1892. He is buried in Section 1 of Arlington National Cemetery with his wife, Ellen A. DeValin, died on 29 August 1910, and his son, Charles Moore DeValin, Captain, United States Navy, 6 July 1869-8 June 1947.
