Reasonably sure this is her husband and her in-laws. Could not find Lucius listed as a Union soldier. Lucius CASE, birth: 8 November 1813 in Simsbury, Hartford County, Connecticut. Death: 23 July 1864 in Newark, Licking County, Ohio; Father: Ambrose Caseb: 25 October 1773 in Simsbury, Hartford, Connecticut Mother: Esther Chapman, born 2 May 1784 in Massachusetts.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
