MOUNT CLEMENS, Michigan – June 12, 1941 – An Army plane nosed over and crashed at Selfridge Field today upon the takeoff, killing Second Lieutenant B. E. Pearson of Syracuse, New York. Cadet Morris Hallett was injured seriously.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
