The Benet Family

While Stephen Vincent Benet (the poet) is probably the best known member of this family, many others from this famous family are interred in Arlington National Cemetery. The poet’s father, James Walker Benet, and his mother and sister are buried in Section 6. His grandfather, Brigadier General Stephen Vincent Benet, a former US Army Chief of Artillery, lies buried in Section 1 with other family members.

Stephen Vincent Benet, the poet, is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Stonington, Connecticut.

Michael Robert Patterson

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history. Many of his articles can be found on renowned portals like the New York Times, Washingtonpost or Wikipedia.
