Anna E. Graves Manning, 78, of Summerfield, Florida., died Monday, February 1, 1999, in Ocala, Florida.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
Mrs. Manning was born September 3, 1920, in Columbia, Missouri, to John and Beulah Pool Graves.
She married Frank Manning on December 2, 1942, near Camp Chaffe, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death.
She graduated from Hickman High School in 1938 and the University of Missouri in 1941. She was an Army Nurse Corp veteran of World War II. She served from 1942 to 1946 and earned four bronze battle stars.
Survivors include a son, Michael Manning of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a daughter, Sally McCarroll of Ocala; a brother, Bill Graves of Columbia; and three grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
Memorials are suggested to the Women in Military Memorial Foundation, Dept. 560, Washington, D.C., 20042-0560.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
