He lies at rest in Section 1 of Arlington National Cemetery in the gravesite of his father, Alexander Byrdie Dyer, Sr., Major General, United States Army. Dyer Jr.’s wife, Madeline Minturn Dyer, is also buried there. His portion of the tombstone reads “Colonel, 4th United States Field Artillery, March 28, 1852-July 9, 1920.”
