In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Home Health & Hospice, Riverbend Family Council or St. Paul Lutheran Church. Memorial service will be held Sunday by the Submarine Veterans of World War II at the funeral home. Mr. Faust will be at the church from 2PM until the time of the service on Monday. Military Honors will follow the service at church by VFW Post #822 Honor Guard. Mr. Faust was born in Vermontville, Michigan on October 11, 1918 and was a resident of Genesee County for many years. He married Phyllis Grundell, in 1989. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, including, during World War II. He survived the attack on Pearl Harbor and served as Chief of the boat on 11 submarine war patrols, when five was the normal amount. He was a member & state commander of the sub-vets. He enjoyed attending the weekly breakfast club meetings. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he served on the board of trustees. He was a man who enjoyed being a handyman for his family. Mr. Faust was employed by General Motors in pricing for almost 20 years, retiring in 1983. Surviving are wife Phyllis; 3 children, Dr.
Sandra Faust of Stuart Florida, Dr. John B. Faust of Lansing and Gary Faust
of Mill Creek, California; 4 step-children, Ruth and husband Mike Thompson
of Grand Blanc, Robert Grundell of Yoder, Indiana, Nancy Galassin of Flushing,
Carol and husband Ken Smith of Grand Blanc; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary,
and 5 sisters and a brother.
