L. Stuart Chambers, Jr., retired Navy Commander died on June 16, 2000 at his residence. Born April 17, 1922, he graduated from the U.S. aval Academy in 1945 and also the U.S. Navy Postgraduate School.
He served in the Navy until retiring May 31, 1968.
Survived by his wife, Dolores Orlando Chambers; his sons, Richard S., Nashville, Stephen H., Birmingham, AL, James S., Stonington and Thomas M. Chambers of Rochester, MI; his daughter, Joanne C. Crevoiserat, Chesterfield, MO; his sister, Carol Hough, Sun City, AZ; 9 grandchildren.
Funeral Monday 11 o’clock at Shepherd of the Sea Chapel, Groton, Connecticut. Interment Arlington National Cemetery.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history. Many of his articles can be found on renowned portals like the New York Times, Washingtonpost or Wikipedia.
