Getting back on the Information You needed on My Stepfather, Albert J. Towar Jr, Buried in Arlington on September 20, 2004.
My “Dad” joined the U. S. Army on July 11, 1942, and was Discharged on Nov.18, 1945. He was a member of Battery D 463 Parachute Field Artillery Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, and was extremly Proud of what he did while in the Armed Forces.
During his time “Over Seas” he recieved the following, American Theater Ribbon; EAME Theater Ribbon w/5 Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Medal; Distinguished Unit Badge; Bronze Arrowhead; Victory Medal ll; American Defense Ribbon; Combat Infantryman Badge; Parachutist Badge; and last but far from least the Purple Heart Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.
My Sister and Brother and I miss our Father dearly and wish we could’ve had him awhile longer, But I guess “The Brave Men” are needed in Heaven as well.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
