Major Adam Kramer of the Sixth United States Cavalry is dead at Iowa City,Iowa, aged sixty-four years.  He had been in actual service in the United States Cavalry for moret han forty years and wa sretired in 1897.

He entered the service in Pennsylvania in 1857, served through the Civil War with the Army of the Potomac, and was appointed Second Lieuetnant of the Sixth United States Cavalry in 1866, and Captain in 1874.  He was active in quelling theSioux during their outbreak in South Dakotain 1891.  Colonel W. F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) entered the United StatesService as a Scout under the command of Captain Kramer.

The body will be shipped to Washington and given a military burial at Arlington Heights.

Major Kramer was breveted in 1880 and again in 1882 for conscipious gallantry in action againstt he Indians in Arizona.
