Captain Mooradian was a crew member of a B-29A Superfortress Bomber with the 372th Bomber Squadron, 307th Bomber Wing. On October 23, 1951, while on a bombing mission, the aircraft was attacked by enemy MiGs near Namsi Airfield. It headed toward the Yellow Sea and crashed. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on February 28, 1954. Captain Mooradian was awarded the Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
An “In Memory Of” gravestone was placed in the Captain’s name at Arlington National Cemetery on 30 April 2004.
