ASBURY PARK, New Jersey, February 14, 1925 – Lieutenant Colonel John H. Duval, U.S.A., retired, who for six years was an Inspector of the New Jersey National Guard on the Governor’s staff, died in his home at 403 Edgemont Drive, Loch Arbour, today. He was 65 years old.

Colonel Duval retired from theArmy in 1904, with the rank of Major, but re-entered the services in the war and for two years was Military Instructor at Bowdin College.  He retired after the war with the rank of Lieuenant Colonel.

Colonel Duval was a cousin of James Elverson, Jr., owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer.  He left a widow and four children, Major General Ward E. Duval, Coast Artillery, California; Lieutenant Henry H. Duval, now en route to Honolulu; James D. Duval of Loch Arbour and Mrs. R. H. Tebbs, Jr., of Loch Arbour.

Services will be held Monday by the Rev. Randolph W. Conklin of Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
