Services Today for Physician Who Was Victim of Motor Accident

NEW YORK, New York, August 22, 1934 – A funeral service for Dr. Edward Francis Kilbane, physician and veteran of the Army Medical Corps, will be held this morning at 10 o’clock in the Roman Catholic church of St. Nicholas of Palatine, Fordham Road and University Avenue, the Bronx.

Dr. Kilbane, was 54 years old, was killed in an automobile accident at St. Albans, Vermont, on Saturday.  He was on his way to Canada.

He was born in New York and studied at Cornell and the Cornell Medical College.  He was a member of the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association and the Medical Society of the County of New York, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He was consulting urologist at many hospitals, including Roosevelt Misericordia, Lincoln, Flushing, Tuxedo and St. Mary’s Children’s.

During the World War, Dr. Kilbane was a Major in the Medical Corps.  His home was at 2285 Sedgwick Avenue, the Bronx.  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha S. Kilbane; a son, Edward P., and three sisters, the Misses Anna L. and Theresa K. Kilbane and Mrs. William Rieth.

Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington.
