Edward G. de Paschalis – Second Lieutenant, United States Army

Ladies and Gentlemen:

 Your page for Lieutenant Edward de Paschalis mentions that you are actively seeking additional information about him.  In looking for some information on a relative, I came across a source which mentions him: The History of the 105th Regiment of Engineers, Divisional Engineers of the “Old Hickory” (30th) Division, compiled by Willard P. Sullivan and Harry Tucker (New York: George H. Doran Company, 1919). There is a photo and brief sketch of his time with the 105th on page 372. He was Mentioned in Division Orders, but did not die in action; he died in the influenza pandemic.

Edward G. dePaschalis was born in Washington, D. C. on 13 September 1891. During World War I, he served as Second Lieutenant, Headquarters Company, 117th U. S. Infantry, 30th Division, and died on 27 October 1918.

The Lieutenant was subsequently buried with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery.  We are actively seeking additional information about the Lieutenant.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history. Many of his articles can be found on renowned portals like the New York Times, Washingtonpost or Wikipedia.
