Ephriam M. Goss, 68, an Army lieutenant colonel and aviator who retired from the Pentagon in 1973 and then was a real estate broker, died August 13, 1998 at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Virginia. He had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
He joined the Army in 1954 and was later posted to Korea and Vietnam, where he flew helicopters.
Colonel Goss, who lived in Centreville, headed Carousel Realty from 1977 to 1982. He also worked for Dreyfuss Residential Sales, House and Home, and the Panorama realty firm.
Colonel Goss was born in Martinsville, Indiana. He attended Franklin College and was a graduate of St. Benedick’s College.
His honors included a Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal.
His marriage to Joannet Goss ended in divorce.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Ann J. Goss of Centreville; two daughters from his first marriage, Melissa Walter of Vienna and Patricia Wilson of Lake Alfred, Fla.; two stepchildren, Sandra Bleich of New York and Lawrence Bleich of Reston; three sisters; a brother; and four grandchildren.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
