Josephine Reyes – Sergeant,United States Air Force

Staff Sergeant Josephine Reyes, 27, died October 15, 2003, from injuries sustained in a September 12 car accident. At the time of her death, she was a patient at the Hospice of Washington.

Upon graduating technical training, she was assigned to Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, where she performed patrol and desk-sergeant duties.

In 2001, Reyes relocated to the 11th Security Forces Squadron at Bolling and worked in a variety of positions while stationed here.

Due to her dedication and hard work, Reyes was selected as the noncommissioned officer in charge of police services.

The Sergeant’s professional excellence is reflected by her achievements. She was a distinguished graduate at Airman Leadership School here and recognized as an “Outstanding Performer Team” during the wing’s 2002 operational readiness inspection.

Reyes was buried with honors in a funeral service at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, October 27, 2003, with family, friends, co-workers and wing leadershp in attandance. in attendence.
