Pat and I hung around together in Washington, D.C., along with his other buddies,Mike Kane and Tom Jenkins.

He was a great friend, someone you could count on when you needed help or someone to listen to your problems. We used to go to burial ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery together never knowing that one day I would be going to his funeral. I think of him often.

The last time I saw Pat alive was just before he shipped out. He didn’t want to be in the Ceremonial Guard Company anymore so he literally tore up 8th Street just so he could get transfered. He got his wish.

He also played football for the Corps, not sure where, but I think it was in Quantico, Virginia. His size and accent stood out the most. If you were in trouble and needed a backup, Pat was sure nice to have around. He was a big Dude!

We have reunions every 5 or so years back in D.C. but I’ve only been to one. I’d like to get back and see the Wall again. God be with you, Pat! Semper Fi!
