Joel Robert Lee was a Lieutenant or Captain in the United States Army Medical Corps during the Spanish-American War. He also served in Served in Cuba and Phillipines. he married Red Cross nurse Harriet Gaddis in 1900 at Morro Castle, Cuba. Harriet followed him to Phillipines in 1901 and she died there that same year.
Joel was been from Alabama. Harriet was from Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
