Frances A. Voyer, Major, United States Army (retired) died on Sunday, December 2, 2001, at Burke Health Care Center. She is survived by her special loved ones.
In 1944, Major Voyer was assigned to Allied Force Headquarters, Mediterranean Theater of Operations. During that assignment she was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in connection with military operations in Italy.
Upon leaving AFHQ for assignment in the U.S., she was awarded The Cross of War Medal which bears the Royal Crest of Emmanual, while he was King of Italy.
A graveside service with Full Military Honors will be held on Friday, December 21, 2001 at 3 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery.

Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
