Robert Trulan Dalton II, 80, an Army Colonel who retired in 1969 as executive officer of the White House Communications Agency, died of lung cancer March 14, 1998 at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Virginia. A resident of the Washington area off and on since the mid-1950s, he lived in Alexandria.
Colonel Dalton was born in Green Island, New York, and attended City College of New York. He enlisted in the Army during World War II and later served with the Signal Corps in Alaska. He was recalled during the Korean War and posted to Germany and France.
After he retired, he was a telecommunications equipment salesman for RCA.
He was editor of a neighborhood newsletter, the Williamsburg Manor Banner, and a member of the Retired Officers Association.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marillis Rose Dalton of Alexandria; and a sister.

Myer Chapel. Interment Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The American Cancer Society.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history. Many of his articles can be found on renowned portals like the New York Times, Washingtonpost or Wikipedia.
