DAVEY, KENNETH V. Lt. Col. (Retired)

Kenneth V. Davey, Lieutenant Colonel, Untied States Army (retired) died on Saturday, December 6, 2003 in Loudoun Hospital Center of congestive heart failure.

A long time resident of Northern Virginia, Colonel Davey was born and spent his childhood in years, including tours during World War II in both the European and Pacific theaters and later in the Korean War. He received numerous citations, including the Bronze Star and the Distinguished Service Medal.

Following retirement from the Army, Colonel Davey worked for the Corps of Engineers for 20 more years as a civilian.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bobbie; two daughters, Lyn Davey-Van Horn of Florida and Jill Davey-Weidman of Virginia; a son, Roger of Connecticut; a sister, Marie Hall of Missouri; a brother, Robert of Wisconsin and six grandchildren, Bridgett and Monica Van Horn of Florida, Eric Davey of Connecticut, and Megan, Drew and Trent Weidman of Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on January 14, 2004 at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of the National Capital Region.
