The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Frank H. Adams, Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Dormans, France, on July 15, 1918.
Lieutenant Colonel Adams was conspicuous for gallantry in action when, with courage and forcefulness and without regard to his personal safety, he voluntarily organized detachments of units other than his own and led them into effective combat.
