Richard Warren Stickney, 81 years, of Somers, New York, formerly of New Canaan, Connecticut, died on March 15, 2001.
He was the husband of Margaret, Brother of John T. Stickney of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Patricia Stickney of New York City,
He was a decorated Captain of the United States Army during World War II. He was wounded at the Remagen Bridge after being one of the first soldiers to cross it. He received the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the Air Medal.
Funeral services at St. Matthew’s Church, Bedford, New York, Monday, 11 AM. Interment Arlington National Cemetery.
Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army. So it was no wonder that sooner or later his interests drew him to American history and especially to American military history.
